Welcome to Contura, your simple and accurate body measurement tracker. This guide helps you get started, understand key features, and troubleshoot common issues.

Getting Started

Record Your First Measurement

Open the app and tap any card under Quick Measurement (e.g., Waist or Hip).

Enter the value, add an optional note, and save.

Use the Measurement Guide from the Add screen if you’re unsure how to measure.

Switch Measurement Units (cm/in)

Go to Settings > Units.

Choose centimeters (cm) or inches (in). Your data will be shown in the selected unit.

Turn On Reminders

Go to Settings > Notifications.

Enable Measurement Reminders and set your preferred reminder interval.

Home Screen

App Title and Sync Indicators

The app title and icon show Contura at the top.

Sync indicators (top right):

  • iCloud: Shows current iCloud status.
  • Health app: Shows current Health sync status.

Indicator colors: Green = Synced, Yellow = Needs attention or permission, Red = Failed, Blue = Checking.

Quick Measurement

Tap any body part card to add a new entry quickly.

Recent Records

Shows your latest measurements. Tap “View All” to open the full list.

Share

Tap the Share button to create a summary image and share it; you can also save it to Photos.

Measurements

Add a Measurement

From Home, tap a body part in Quick Measurement, enter the value, add an optional note, then save.

Measurement Guide

From the Add screen, open Measurement Guide for step-by-step instructions, common mistakes to avoid, and recommended tools.

Notes

Add short notes (e.g., time of day, posture, or context) to each measurement.

Edit or Delete

Open Records (View All) > swipe on a record to Edit or Delete.

Custom Body Parts

Choose Custom to track any other body part that’s important to you.

Records

Filtering

Filter by Body Part and Time Range (Recent Week, Month, 3 Months, Year, or All Time).

Sorting

Sort by date (newest/oldest), value (largest/smallest), or group by body part.

Grouped Sections

Records are grouped by Today, Yesterday, weekday name, or date, making it easier to review.

Analytics

Analytics Overview

Choose a body part and time range to see trends.

View key statistics such as current value, record count, average change, and overall trend.

The chart visualizes changes over time and can show your goal line if set.

Set a Goal

Open Analytics for a body part and set a target value to track progress.

Export from Analytics

Use Export to share or back up your data as needed.

Settings

Units

Go to Settings > Units to switch between centimeters and inches.

All values in the app will display using the selected unit.

iCloud

Keep your data up to date across devices signed in with the same Apple ID and iCloud enabled.

Check the iCloud status indicator on the Home screen; tap it for more guidance if needed.

Health App

Connect with Apple’s Health app to optionally read/write supported measurements.

Use Settings > Health to manage permissions and auto-sync preferences.

If permission is not granted, the Health indicator shows a state that needs attention.

Notifications

Go to Settings > Notifications.

Turn on Measurement Reminders and set your preferred interval.

Ensure iOS notifications are allowed for Contura in the system Settings if you aren’t receiving alerts.

Data Management

Export Data

Go to Settings > Data > Export to generate a file or share from Analytics when available.

Import Data

Go to Settings > Data > Import to bring in previous backups when supported.

Share a Summary Image

On the Home screen, tap Share to create a visual summary and share it or save it to your Photos.

Troubleshooting

iCloud Not Syncing

  • Make sure you’re signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled.
  • Check the iCloud indicator on the Home screen. If it shows Yellow or Red, tap it to see what to do next.
  • Ensure you have a stable network connection.

Health App Data Not Appearing

  • Go to Settings > Health and ensure permissions are granted for the data types you want.
  • Open the Health app > Privacy > Apps > Contura to confirm permissions.

Can’t Receive Reminders

  • Ensure notifications are enabled for Contura in iOS Settings > Notifications.
  • In the app, check Settings > Notifications and verify your reminder interval is set.

Units Look Wrong

Go to Settings > Units, switch to your preferred unit (cm or in).

Missing Records

Check filters in Records (e.g., Body Part or Time Range) and clear them if needed.

How do I add a custom body part?
When adding a measurement, select Custom and enter a name.
How do I change units?
Settings > Units, then choose centimeters (cm) or inches (in).
How do I set or change a goal?
Open Analytics for a body part and use the goal option.
How do I export my data?

How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings > Data. Use the Delete All Data option in the Danger Zone. This cannot be undone, so proceed carefully.

  • Add notes to record context that might affect results.

  • Dynamic Type: Contura respects system text size settings for better readability.
  • Clear labels: Each body part is labeled with text and an icon for quick recognition.
